Hong Kong Disneyland - Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters Water-Fill Cup

I'm pretty excited to share this with you guys because I recently found it after thinking it had gone missing so I am really happy to have found it again as it's one of my most favourite things :)

I got it at Hong Kong Disneyland about 8 years ago and its just a simple plastic water-fill cup from the Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters ride, but I absolutely adore it. I love the colours and the pictures on it, and all the glitter and little rockets and stars that move around in the water as you use it. Its fairly small as I guess its really meant to be for kids, but its my favourite ever cup to use and a memento from a great trip so I'm really happy to have found it again :)

Intergalactic Buzz Lightyear by Thinkway Toys

I was lucky enough to win a few ebay auctions really cheaply recently and the first of my wins arrived home at the weekend. He is an Intergalactic Buzz Lightyear made by Thinkway Toys.

He did come in his original box which has seen better days but not too bad considering his age and that he was apparently very much a child's toy in his former home. The sides of the box have the same thing printed on each side. I really love the graphics on the boxes and packaging of the older toys, they just feel more authentic to the film.

The instruction sheet for how to use his disc shooting back pack, flip up arm communicator and lightbulb installation was still inside the box:

On the box pictures, Buzz he is shown to be really shimmery but in reality he is a basic sort of metallic silver colour. The metallic paint has been scratched or rubbed off in a few places on mine, particularly at the back, but I am still pretty pleased with the condition he is in for the price I paid. Unfortunately, the only buttons that still work on him are the blue, green and red ones. His laser does not work anymore, and neither does the flip up arm communicator button. I shared a video on my instagram account showing what he says when you press the working buttons. Also, you can't see it very well in the video because its daylight, but when you press those buttons and he talks, he also lights up around his head/visor which looks really cool in the dark. With regards to his joints and movement capabilities, he is pretty much the same as the standard Buzz Lightyear's.

Intergalactic Buzz comes with a little "backpack" piece which acts as a disc launcher. You can clip it into his back, or some of the pictures on the box show it in his hand but you would need to physically hold it like that, it doesn't clip on like it does on his back. The disc launcher still works, you just slot a disc into the top and squeeze the two red triggers in on either side and it actually shoots quite far!

Intergalactic Buzz does have pop out wings but sadly it doesn't pop out all the way on one side of mine. I've tried to jiggle it around but no luck so far. Its not a huge issue for me though as I tend to display them with their wings packed in anyway.

All in all, I am thrilled with the latest edition to my Buzz Lightyear collection. He has his flaws but he is still wonderful to me. Here are some bonus pictures of our favourite space ranger :)

Toy Story That Time Forgot - Buzz, Woody, Trixie, Reptillus & Goliathon

I decided to order some of the Toy Story That Time Forgot action figures this week whilst they were on sale and still available to buy easily (on Amazon). I wasn't able to get the whole set but I did get Battle Armor Buzz, Battle Armor Woody, Battle Armor Trixie, Reptillus Maximus and Goliathon.

They were all boxed but as stated previously, I do not keep toys in boxes so they have all been carefully removed and the boxes stored away.

I'll start by showing you Goliathon. Here he is in his box, front and back views shown. He was the only one of the ones I got not to have a protective plastic box cover. The back of the box just shows the other figures you can collect from the series.

He's actually a pretty cool toy, with wheels on the bottom so you can move him along, and his mouth opens nice and wide so he can eat the other toys :) He is actually pretty mean looking too which I like a lot, I'll have fun taking some photos of him out in the garden I think.

The others all came in blister boxes on card as you can see, all with the same illustration in the background. The back of the boxes was also the same for each figure, again showing the other figures available to collect.

Buzz comes with an axe which he can hold in either hand. I noticed with all the figures that the hand grips are quite tight which makes it a little tricky to put the accessories into them but once they are in they hold pretty well so that is good.

Reptillus Maximus comes with his staff thing and when you take him out the package his tail is not attached so that just clips on. As with Buzz, his hand grip is pretty tight on both hands but he can hold his staff in both hands well.

Trixie is probably my favourite of the figures, I just think her detailing is really nice and I like the expression on her face. Her legs move and you can move her head from side to side too. Her armor is all attached, as with the other figures, so you can't take any of it off but that's fine as it means no pieces to go missing easily!

And finally we have Woody. Normally, Woody can do no wrong in my eyes as he is my absolute favourite Pixar character; however, this Woody is a right pain! He does not like to stand at all. It took me ages to balance him for these photos! Aside from that though, I like him as a figure. His detail is pretty good and I like that his hat is removable as I was expected it to be fixed on. He comes with a sword which he can hold well in both hands.

As a set, I am pretty pleased with them and I definitely want to add the rest of the figures to my collection so I will be hunting for those online later ;) Here are some extra bonus pics of them all for you to enjoy :)

Lego Disney Minifigure Series

Anyone who loves Disney and loves Lego will know that Lego recently released a new Disney character series of their popular blind bag minifigures. There are 18 figures in the series to collect, including some based on Pixar characters.

I have been lucky enough to complete my set recently after finding someone selling the ones I needed locally (and cheaper than retail!). I had bought a few in stores but only got one double (Mickey Mouse) as my friend Emma is a whizz at feeling the bags to make sure you get what you want ;)

The characters available are Stitch, Pizza Planet Alien, Buzz Lightyear, Aladdin, Genie, Maleficent, Alice in Wonderland, Cheshire Cat, Daisy Duck, Donald Duck, Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Mr. Incredible, Syndrome, Peter Pan, Captain Hook, Ursula and Ariel.

Aside from the Pixar ones (and of them, my favourite are definitely Buzz and the Alien), my favorites from the set are Stitch, Alice and Cheshire Cat. I really love the Maleficent but I am kind of disappointed that they didn't do pairs for her and Stitch as all the other characters are in couples. However, perhaps they will do their corresponding pairs in a future release. Now I have the set, I really want to find 2 more Aliens so I have three ;)
