Finding Dory Busy Book

I picked this Finding Dory Busy Book up a few weeks ago now as they had it in a discount store for a really great price in comparison to the prices in most other stores.

For those that don't know, Busy Books are story books that come with a play mat and a set of plastic figures in the back. They have done loads, including most of the more recent Pixar films, and loads of other Disney films.

I wasn't able to take a photo of the play mat as it was too big and I couldn't get up high enough with the camera to fit it in but you can see on the back of the book what it looks like.

The front part of the book is the actual book part and rather than tell a whole story of the film, it usually tells you some little rhyme or something about one of the characters. I haven't actually read it yet because the film is not released here until Friday and whilst I know what the characters are called etc., I know nothing of the story and wan't to keep it that way! All I have seen is the trailer and the clip of Baby Dory, the rest I want to be a surprise and enjoy it as it happens haha! So anyway, you can see a couple of the pages which gives you an idea what the rest are like, and then at the back are compartments with the play mat and figures in.

The figures it comes with are Fluke, Rudder, Gerald, Sea Otter, Hank, Destiny, Bailey, Dory, Charlie, Jenny, Marlin and Nemo. They are all fairly decent figures, not the greatest detailing or paint work in the world but not bad. As I haven't seen the film, I can't really comment as to whether I think there are any characters that I would have liked to have seen in the set that aren't, but for the price (I paid £2.99), you get a good bunch of figures for your money :)

Posh Paws "Finding Dory" Mini Plush - Dory, Nemo, Destiny & Otter

Finding Dory is out in cinemas in the UK on Friday (29th July) so I thought I'd start sharing  some FD things I have picked up lately.

These adorable little plush toys are made by Posh Paws and I think you can find them in various stores here in the UK such as supermarkets (I've seen them in Sainsbury's) and gift stores such as Clinton Cards etc. Posh Paws also make the non-Disney Store Tsum Tsums.

I got this gang from a supermarket here in the UK called Aldi. They were released in Aldi stores yesterday and I don't know how long they will have them for but if you are after them, I'd try and get some ASAP as they are a lot cheaper in there than in other stores I have seen them in. In Aldi they are £4.99 each but in the other stores I have seen them in, they have been retailing for £7.99. As adorable as they are, I have to say I probably wouldn't pay £7.99 for them as they are pretty small, but £4.99 seemed a good price to me. Aldi also have a load of other Finding Dory products in such as plastic drink bottles, a pop-up play tent, activity & colouring books, cushions and more so definitely check them out if you get the chance.

The characters I got are Dory, Nemo, Destiny and Otter. They did have Hank available but I wasn't blown away for him so I didn't get him for now. I may give in and get him if they still have some later in the week but he was made of a different material that I didn't really like as it just made him look a bit cheap to me. These ones however, are gorgeously soft.

Otter is possibly my favourite from the group. He just has a nice face and and he is really soft and cuddly. The fabric labels and paper tags are the same on all the characters so I'll only show them once on Otter in the photos below.

I went through the Nemo's to find one with the most acceptable face but he still looks a little cross eyed :D He is lovely and bright though and I love his little fin <3

With Dory I again had to try and find one with the least wonky eyes and this was the best of the bunch. She is still pretty cute and like Nemo her colours are nice and bright. Apologies for having to have my arm/hand in the photos but I just could not get her to stay upright for pictures!

Destiny is my other favourite of this set as her face is really pretty and there was no worry with regards to wonky eyes with her hehe :) I really like how they did her gills too.

All in all, they are pretty cute little plushies but I'm glad I got them at the price I did as I personally don't think they would have been worth it for £7.99. I may go back and get Hank but we'll see. For now, I am pretty happy with the four I did get :)

"Finding Dory" Series 1 Figurine Packs

As I build up my blog, sometimes I will share new/new to me items as I find them, but sometimes I will share items I have had in my collection for a long time. I hope you will find both kinds of posts as interesting, and that you might see some toys or memorabilia that you haven't seen before.

For my first proper post, I am going to share with you some new items from Finding Dory that I purchased today. I got them from a toy shop here in the UK and had actually gone in to look at something completely different but whenever I go in a toy shop, I always have a quick look to see if they have any Toy Story toys in particular as quite often they put out old stock they've had in the back of the shop for a while and I can find a few gems at great prices. There was nothing new in the Toy Story section today but right next to it was the new selection of toys from the upcoming Finding Dory. I could literally have bought it all if I'd had the money (and I will definitely be going back and getting some of the robo fish at some point) but alas, I did not. However, I can never resist little figure bags so I absolutely had to get some of these:

They were £2.99 each and my originally aim was to try and find Dory, Nemo and Crush at least by feeling the bags; however, when I turned them over I was delighted to see that they are not true blind bags because they have a small clear window on the back so you can look in and see which figure is inside!

So, because I would therefore know that I definitely wasn't getting any doubles, I ended up getting the complete set ;) Also, it may be worth noting that I went through two boxes of them and only found one Nemo and one Dory so whether there are less of them in the boxes, I have no idea, but its certainly a possibility.

There are 8 figures to collect in series one; Nemo, Dory, Becky, Crush, Hank, Sea Otter, Pearl and Hermit Crab. I was a little disappointed that more of the new characters weren't included but as its series one, hopefully they will release some of those in the next set. Anyway, here is the series one gang all lined up, and some more close up pictures of them in pairs:

I always have a soft spot for Dory so I particularly love her figure, but otherwise I think my favorites from this set are Hank, Crush and Pearl. I hope you like them, and that you can find them in the shops too as they are a definite must have for any Finding Dory collection :)
